History of the company

Saro G. Ratter is Engineer of Agriculture and has a longtime practical experience in the
bio business. He started working on organic farms in France and northern Germany,
then in the scientific sector as well as in marketing and consulting.

From 1992 to 94 he managed an agricultural development project with more than
20 staff members on behalf of the DED (German Development Service) in Rwanda
(Central Africa).

The trade with agricultural products and inputs was an important part of this project.
Later he advised private companies in several African countries in the development and
marketing of certified organic products, carried out feasibility studies and worked on
marketing support for organic products from developing countries.

During these varied activities he made many personal contacts with producers, processors,
wholesalers, representatives of different institutions and consultants of the organic sector.
These experiences and contacts are used to develop a market access for more organic
products from developing countries.

A main focus of the consultancy work were organic cotton projects in various African
countries and India.

Since 2009 the company bioSim is importer of Kimango Farm products from Tanzania.
